Marston Beacon Hill is a property management and real estate firm located in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood. We offer the opportunity to work with a team of property managers whose mission is to deliver outstanding customer service to our clients. The Assistant Property Manager schedules maintenance, responds to property management department inquiries and meets vendors for access to properties. Be a part of our knowledgeable management team and provide outstanding customer service to our clients. We are looking to build a lasting working relationship with the right person.

 

The office environment is collaborative and fast-paced. Expect the unexpected and a dynamic workweek with a mix of 75% of time spent in office and 25% out of office time.  

 

This entry-level, full-time position reports directly to the Director of Property Operations. The ideal candidate need not have experience in property management but needs to have an interest in historic properties and a natural curiosity for how things work. 

 

The right candidate has a bachelor’s degree and a broad range of interests. They are self-organized and can juggle priorities and an ever-changing list of tasks. In addition, this person has no problem asking for exemplary service from our vendors and persisting until they deliver. They are always looking for the next step and realize the importance of asking questions when other resources have been tapped. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to grow.

 

The right person must:

  • Have exceptional communication skills
  • The ability to see individual efforts to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to take instruction, respond in a constructive manner and ask questions when necessary
  • Be proactive in identifying, suggesting and working on tasks that are in line with current objectives
  • Be honest and trustworthy

 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Accompanying inspectors and vendors to properties
  • Performing data entry
  • Maintaining key inventory and daily key loans
  • Coordinating vendor appointments
  • Providing status updates to customers and clients
  • Performing general office tasks and errands
  • Occasional carrying/lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders to perform routine maintenance repairs
  • Preparing vendor work orders
  • Performing turnover inspections
